Need a cheap long audio cable
Sometimes I like to play music from my bed on my home theater. The cord needs to be about 20-25 feet. Ive bought a few wires from radioshack. One sounded absolutely horrible, the other was alright for the length but the jack got destroyed in about a month, very poor quality. Where can I get a decent long wire cheap. I assume I could make my own but when i make cables, they never come out as good as I wanted.
Im looking to spend under 20 or maybe a bit more for an optical one.
I guess I would take recommendations for a shorter higher quality cable as well to go from my computer to amp for my headphones as well.
I am assuming I can use an optical cable as i have a receiver with optical in and my macbook has optical out. Should I possibly try this?

Check monoprice.com
Great place to buy from. Go for the cables that say "PREMIUM...."

I've had very good luck with monoprice.com cables as well, and even the long-run cables have been fine in my HT.

I have wasted a lot of time trying to help you understand. It has not worked, so be my guest, believe what you wish and be wrong forever.

Be careful with big cheap cables. In my experience, the super skinny OEM style ones sound better (less bad might be a better way to describe the difference). If you have cables with PVC insulation, it is probably better to have less (smaller diameter) cable. The least expensive non diy cables I like are some of the builds from Markertek. Go for plenum rated if you can, as that usually means dialectrics with less absorbtion. Blue Jeans Cable has some great values, but I really don't like the sound of the Canare RCA connectors they favor, though they are nice and useable if you have fragile PCB mount jacks.
