They arent too pricey, you can the omni series flagship floorstanding speakers for about $799 a pair.
for two channel listening, Id recommend anyone looking for some affordable speakers to check them out. The sound stage sweet spot is huge. While not as pin point on the imaging, the live sound of these speakers are very nice.
I have a couple of the bookshelves and they create a holographic sound stage, the sound is dispersed in an omni direction pattern and not direct radiating, so you'll hear sound behind you at times.
since its omni directional in nature, its definately out of the box sound and what the listener percieves is a huge floating sound stage through out the room. even as the listener walks about the sound stage does not collapse.
definately worth a listen to anyone looking for some two channel listening and want the "LIVE" sound. I let a friend of mine come to my house and listen to some old Elvis recordings on 2 channel playback and he told me this was the closest to "live" he's ever heard the track.
Ive also done some tests with two channel trance and had listened sit and listen, I didnt tell them it was two channel stereo and they literally though they were listening to a surround mix

as the floating stage was so convincing that it seemed to image sound behind the listener.
I would would recommend you listen to the 60 and 260 line, the one with the larger drivers, the smaller driver speakers are not as good. while the 60 and 260 are far superior.
my 2 cents
