Mini to mini problem???

I just got my mini to mini and when using it, the sound coming from my earphones is reversed.

for example, listening to my music straight from the source the violin's sound would be coming only from the left ear piece, but when connected to an amp with this particular mini to mini, the sound is coming from the right ear piece.

Any advice guys?
