HD 650 Blue Dragon is SUPER!!
Hi all...
Received my HD 650 Moon Audio Blue Dragon upgrade cable today. Drew at Moon Audio was kind enough to make it in black for me (you can get it in either standard blue or black - all of my stuff is black so I decided to just go with a matching color). I won't go too much into the sound because it has already been described very well by Ross in his complete Sennheiser cable review thread...suffice it to say, everything you have read is true. This upgrade cable is GREAT!! There is a dramatic improvement in sound quality that is immediately apparant over the stock cable in just about every way.
Replacing the stock cable with the Blue Dragon peels away whole new layers of realism and musicality that just don't come across very well with the stock cable. There's a new liquidity and silkiness in the sound, a naturalness and a greater fullness, a "tubey" lushness with the Moon Audio Blue Dragon that replaces what is by comparison a relative degree of coarseness and lack of resolution in the stock cable. The soundstage is bigger that the stock cable's and directional information comes across better too. I am absolutely convinced I could tell the cables apart even if I were to try picking them out while wearing a blindfold, the improvement is that obvious.
What amazes me even more is how good the sound is right out of the box. I don't see any need to break the cable in by running it continuously for hundreds of hours, I'll just burn it in through normal use because I am happy with the sound as it is, and any further improvement will only amaze me more. I haven't tried any other replacement cables, and I can't compare it to anything but the stock cable. I do recommend it if any of you are curious to try

A number of people seem to think the cable improves quite a bit by burning it for a few hundred hours, so why not give it a shot and let some music play while you're sleeping? It probably won't sound worse as time goes on!

I really like my Blue Dragon too, I just wish it had been available in black when I bought mine.

No, I'm not in the future DS. Just a little joke on my part.
