Default Fixup, D.P Etymotic ER4p-4s adapter??

HI
I am considering buying an adapter for my etymotic er4p. I have read many posts about this adapter but noone has post a review on which adapter is better in terms of sound. Also, I might be interested in the replacement cable but that's just secondary. I would like people from Headfi to post their experiences with each of these adapters and if someone would be nice to make a thorough review of the different adapters, that would be great too.

I have the Fixup cable and it performs flawlessly. As far as I know, there is virtually no difference in terms of sound quality when you compare all the cables that are available right now.

Etymotic is coming out with an official converter cable (or is it a plug??) though, so you might want to hold out for a while until someone reviews it.

Here's an interesting thread on this topic:

Is Daniel Pumphrey still making/selling his adapter?

Default Yes, Dan still does...

use his e-mail.

Here is a quote from him dated Feb. 9 of this year:

"...The cost for the adaptors remains at $40.00 with $3.00 shipping now being
added on to the $40 making a total of $43.00 in the U.S. Overseas shipping
may require a little more.

I accept Paypal and Money Orders. International orders can be arranged with
other payment options.

Money orders may be sent to
Daniel Pumphrey
330 S. Cricket Dr.
Apt. 202
N. Wilkesboro, NC 28659

Cables will be made and shipped as soon as possible after receipt of payment.

The standard ER4-P to ER4-S adaptor cable is 5ft, terminated with a gold
plated 1/8 inch plug. A 1/4 inch gold plated plug is also available for
home amps at the same price. Some users have ordered shorter cables with
various combinations of wire. Filling these orders has become so complex
that I prefer to use the same wire for shorter versions as necessary. The
cost for a shorter cable is the same, as the labor and vary intricate
sodering of tiny components is the main difficulty of producing these
adaptors. The wire I use is considerably thicker than the standard ER4
cable and has proven to give the best sound and less resistance.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Daniel and Donna Pumphrey
