Center Channel Speaker???

Hello, i'm in search of a center channel speaker for my 5.1 setup. Pioneer amp, and 4 insignias front and rear, but i dont have a center. I'm just looking for something that will sound decent and go with the insignias/12in sub. I have bestbuy gift cards so if any of these work i could consider, otherwise any other ones that are reasonably priced. Others have said use an insignia and save the extra for extra. I could do this but just wondering if anything else would work? I guess 50 is less than any center channel and it includes an extra speakers so maybe i should mandangle that? Well, let me know. Those others are right. It is best just to use another Isignia bookshelf for the center. However, if you want the typical dual driver center form factor, there is only one way to determine the best.

Go to Best Buy and audition the center's in your budget and buy the one that best matches the Insignia's timbre.

Ideally, all main speakers in a 5.1,6.1 or 7.1 system should be identical and better yet be full range. In a "perfect" room they will all have the same tonal characteristics and SPL at the main listening spot, that is if it is tweaked for one listener.

My room is an acoustical nightmare.

In a home theater setting, center speakers usually contain the same or similar driver elements that are used in the speakers. Home theater centers are designed to distribute the sound so that listeners sitting away from the center position receive the same amount of dialogue (or whatever's in the center). In a studio where one person is doing the mixing, usually all of the speakers are exactly the same, with some exceptions (ex. tweeter orientation).

I don't agree that the Insignia is a full range speaker. They are "bookshelf" speakers which are not considered to be full range.

A typical center channel speaker unfortunately is not designed for optimal dispersion, so they will not "distribute the sound so that listeners sitting away from the center position receive the same amount of dialogue"

There is the matter of lobing (dual midrange lobing) You can read some info here
