Cardas hd600 cable replacement replacement
hi. there was a thread here a month ago or so that said that Cardas was developing a new cable with larger connectors. it said that it was gonna be realeased in January and that Cardas will replace "defective" cables then.
well... i contacted Cardas, and they already shipped me a new cable today, despite the fact that i told them i bought mine used. they asked me to send mine back... so i'll wait 'till i get the new one. but i didn't get it yet... i'll let you guys know if the connectors are indeed larger now.
...when i move around, i do hear "static" sounding noise... so, hopefully this cable will be better.
but that's pretty good service huh?... i'm starting to like Cardas, even though i don't really buy their "golden ratio" theory.

nope... they just told me they shipped one out yesterday... didn't ask me for anything before hand. just took my word for it. but they did ask me to ship them my original cable, after they had shipped the new one to me. and they want a small description of what was "defective" sent in with my cable too--but of course, that won't affect their decision to send me one, cause of course they already did!
now that's how customer service should be.
yeah... i'll let you guys know if it's an improvement. that old connector didn't work all that well.

hi. got the replacement replacement today. there are some differences between this one and the old cable:
1. the cable is thicker... almost 50% thicker... but it's still about the same flexibility
2. there are no prints on the cable itself
3. the junction where the wires go into the headphone plugs are scratched up and twisted a little. not as good workmanship as my old cable.
4. ........and.... the plug is fat again! ...looks the same size as the stock plug.
fits nicely... just like stock. sounds fine. i'm happy.

That is good news Orpheus. I'm glad they finally fixed the cardas cable so that it fits like the stock plug!
