I own a set but not the sub.

Here are some people's impression of them.

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=739713

This is my post I made:

I really enjoy mine(listened to them for 3 months) but like jacbri said, the mid bass isn't there. Now with a sub it's almost a non-issue but if you are crossover'd at 100hz to compensate, you do run the risk of sub localization. I'm think about picking up a HSU MTM-12 to compliment my VTF-3 MK II to give me more mid bass punch.

Pattyosu brought up a good point about the center channel. I really do enjoy not having to keep messing with the volume between soft dialogs and explosions. Everything comes out really clean without being bright.

The finish is is good and the piano gloss top and bottom bring the overall look up a notch. I think without it they would look very generic. I personally like the copper drivers. The narrow footprint is both a blessing and a cure in that they are fairly easy to knock over but they also are easier to place if you have a difficult/small room. If just going by looks I would have guessed the HT-75 would have been in the $500-$1000 price bracket.

Musically, some people just do not prefer horn loaded tweeters and that's understandable. I listen to mostly rock/alternative and find these speakers more than acceptable for my taste. I really do enjoy my SACD/ DVD-A collection like Godsmack's acoustic version of the "The Other Side" and both of the Porcupine Tree's offerings.

Besides the addition of another sub, I plan on ordering 4x Behringer A500 amps to see how they respond to more power than what my HK AVR 330 is capable of and ordering a set of the HT-64 bookshelves to complete my 7.2 setup.

Overall, I think these are a great set of speakers for someone just starting out with a minimal budget and their main focus is for home theater use.

Of course this is all just my opinion.
