I think I found an easiest way to prove if cables are all the same or not. Would you dare to use stock grade power cords and cables like ones you received together from headphone amps with medical device to your family? Cmon, they're all the same, even coat hanger copper can be used for speaker cable from hundred watts amplifier so it should be no problem with medical device.
Iron Lung Jellyfish powercords (6' , 14AWG) are hospital grade and cost $29.
This is what they use for EKG, repirators, etc.... and is worth th $29 simply for the quality of construction. Ever look around a ICU and spot OXALIDE connectors... how many of the hospital instruments do you think come with CRYOgenically treated wire? I've got a buddy with a PhD in metallurgy and he is proficient with a variety of high power microscopes, electron scanning, tunneling, etc.... vibration is a major issue in this equipment but powercords are simple much like the jellyfish or something you'd find on a computer monitor. I spent a fair amount of time using high dollar sensitive lab equip while at University and continue to use such equipment in my daily profession and I don't see the hoodoo powercords on anything....why is that???

The hospital has already paid a huge amount for the gear which has been rigourously researched and tested.
Presumably when you're paying for an expensive cable you're paying for their research and marketing costs more so than the actual cost of the wire.
Back to the original topic...the Monster vs. coathanger speaker wire thing has been done to death. I'll bet if it were reputable ICs (not Monster) vs. coat hanger-made ICs, rather than speaker cable, there'd be a huge difference.
