It's weird seeing cable forum talks generally about cable snake oil thing...why don't you just quit this place and let believer be what they like?
A forum is discussion. Everyone's opinion, unless intentionally inflammatory (and I don't think this is the case, as at least 90% believe what they're saying), is worth an equal amount. Why don't you quit the forum? Then you won't have to ever hear that you could possibly be wrong.
I think I found an easiest way to prove if cables are all the same or not. Would you dare to use stock grade power cords and cables like ones you received together from headphone amps with medical device to your family? Cmon, they're all the same, even coat hanger copper can be used for speaker cable from hundred watts amplifier so it should be no problem with medical device.

Hospital grade power cords are some 10-20 dollars. Personally, I would feel safer with a UL certified hospital-grade cord than some of those extremely pricey power cords that have poor shielding when compared to the hospital grade cords.
However, this is all irrelevant. Audio signals aren't medical signals. Even if there were a difference, the analogy would be flawed because they're different devices altogether.
Plus, the fact that you're mixing up power cords with cable. Nobody's saying that coat hangers are suitable for use as power cords, just for interconnects. And if you're getting into interconnects, then you've strayed even farther from the subject, because those interconnects are not transmitting audio waves. It's as simple as that.

If that 1000000$ cable can guarantee that my family will be healed from cancer (knock on wood), sure i'll support it instead of a coat hanger.
If not, why not?

I tried some snake oil on the ends of my cables, but didn't like it. Maybe I should try a different species of snake? Maybe something with a little more, uh, venom?
