good copper IC upwards 200-300$ or around there (up, down)?

Cardas Quadlink ICs are the bomb for the money. Pure copper litz.

Yes, the Quadlink from Cardas are SUPER. Had them for awhile. Warm yet still clear and detailed, very sturdily constructed.

I'd recommend the best used Virtual Dynamics IC you can afford. Nothing like 'em.

I prefer the sound of copper and yesterday bought 100' of Mogami balanced mic cable (W2549) to build a few new IC's. It is 1/4 of the price to build it yourself instead of buying the premade units from somewhere like Guitar Center.
