What other DAP (non ipod) can you easily and cheaply get a line out cable for?
Check the title. I know the Creative Vision M has an expensive cable, the iAudio X5/X5 has a cable around somewhere. Does anyone know of other DAPs where its easy to get a line out cable? I really dont want to buy an ipod.

What's wrong with an iPod?
Just because everyone has it?

ask someone to make you a custom DIY ipod line out dock. They are significantly cheaper than branded cables.
i got mine for 20 USD, Canare cable + some japanese rca plugs.
EDIT: Alternatively, the Sony offers line out straight from the headphone out (there's an option), so you don't need a line out dock at all.

Yep, The sony NW-A3000 has an option to turn the headphone socket into a line out, you can then use a standard mini to mini cable. of course this won't suit you if you want video also as the screen is monochrome OLED.
My creative ZEN vision (NOT M) also has a proper line out (standart mini jack, no need for a dock) in adition of the headphone socket. It's actually audio and video out, but if you tourn out video out in the options it becomes a normal audio line out. That one will give you audio and video but is bigger. On the other hand some high street shops are putting these on sales now that the Vision W is there.

iRiver H1xx/H3xx only need a mini-mini cable as a line-out cable.

I have not seen anything definitive, but it would seem like the ZVW also has the A/V out on it. I plan to pick one of these up soon, as it seems like the best option out there currently. At least for my needs.

You might want to check out the new Archos offerings and the Cowon A2 for PMPs.
