Hows this panasonic?
I like their mash players for their warm, musical character, but sometimes I think they are too warm, and I want something more dry and detailed.

The people at stereophile say it sounds very similar to the Optimus CD-3400, but with a little less bass. If your not a bass head then this model isn't for you.

Excellent pictures! Fewtch, your gallery has the best D-555 pictures Ive yet seen! I can finally read the letters on the top LCD. Wow there are no less than 3 of the D-555s up for sale on ebay right now. Im really tempted to get one, more than ever.. argh!

Try the Pans with Senns.. they mate like rabbits, and match eachother in terms of balance..
The old Pan CD players with MASH are quite nice for that warm musicality sensation...
