Teclast T51
Teclast have picked Rockchip’s RK2806 chipset as the heart of the T51, which is capable of HD-quality 1,280 x 720 video and playback of 720p AVI, H.264 (MKV) and RMVB footage. That’s paired with not one but two Wolfson WM8740 audio chips, each serving one of the stereo channels, for a maximum of 120dB per channel and increased audio isolation.
Meanwhile the line-out connection is served by a dedicated TI Op Amp OPA2604 chip, while Teclast have used a completely separate Philips UDA1308 professional headphone amp chip for private listening.

Hardware's one thing, software is a another. I'll have to wait and see what reviewers say about the product before I can believe all the "it's super awesome" hype flying around about the T51.
As for the 720p video playback...is that on the screen itself (scaled down)? Or is it video out to a external display?

think i will keep an eye on this player, promised myself either an amp pro 2 or a sony x but would prefer to pay less than the x also dissappointed with the early teething troubles of the amp3
At the moment im double amping cowon d2 caffine ultra hfi780 so a line out would be good (even though it sounds amazing)

Sounds interesting. What about the capacity, battery life and format support? And the hiss....

If you think 720p (HDMI) is not enough, then, wait for the FullHD 1080p Teclast T56.
thegadgetsite: Teclast T56 PMP does 1080P

Is it just me or does some of the menus in the UI look very similar to Cowon's S9's default one?

Well hopefully this one is not crippled with small capacity and no tone controls like all the other high end DAP's coming out now. AMP3 and HIFIMAN I'm talking about you.
EDIT
Looks like it has an EQ after watching the youtube demo

MKV support?? That's only interesting if it will actually play soft subs... If so WOW. A major convenience for those who are stuck hardcoding subtitles themselves a lot.

teclast are famous for ripping no one else but cowon. but, if they can pull gapless and a decent, non-rolled off bass without hiss, might be interesting... otherwise, count me out.

Well that's good to know going in. Hopefully "quality over quantity" applies as well then.

Hoepfully they allow an SD slot or something cause as we know capacitive touch screen = flash and flash = 32-64GB max which is not good enough for audiophiles that want lossless audio on their device.
Would it kill someone to make an audiophile quality DAP with a high capacity drive in it?

It might. *shrugs* There's a lot of things you need to balance when you're a company pushing a new product onto the market. Limited resources, unlimited wants.

lol or before the manufacturer asks for the product to be returned because he doesn’t like your opinion and asks the op to delete the whole thread
