''With Clear Stereo enabled the NWZ-A826 is a player to rival any on the market, beating even its A810 predecessor.''

So, even better SQ then the A810 series? This should be one great-sounding DAP then.....

Now this makes me curious how a sony DAP could even sound better than the A810 series. I use walkmans for years and years now.... for the good old MiniDisc to the all new A and S series and I notice a typical sony sound signature. I initially got bored with it, so I wonder how they even further improved it?

According to GenerationMP3 SQ is better on the A81x series. Their theory was the better materials of the A81x made the difference. . .
Who knows?

Doesn't make much sense. The 810 and 700 series already have the Clear Stereo feature, but the way they've worded it above kind of implies it's some 'new' technology which improved the sound. Also, the clear stereo only works with the supplied headphones, and how many of us will stay with those?

Soozieg.

I was told the same thing buy the salespeople at Akihabara. That is not true. The A808 works fine with English Windows and Sonicstage 4.3 and with a simple registry tweak you can add kanji and kana support.

I know the 808 works fine with SS and English Windows as I have it. But the model you're after is a Japan-only release (SS/Atrac only released with Japanese models now) so make sure that particular model can definitely use English Windows before you buy it.

The A808 was a Japan only model as well, but it doesn't really matter as I use both Sonicstage 4.3 and 4.4. The A828 is just like the A808, English menus and all. Now the A929 might be a different story and I would be a bit timid about importing that model.

How do you need to tag compilations for the Sony's so as to take the artists out of the artists list.

How's that possible?
I bought mine from Amazon UK a year ago and it was already widely available in Europe.
