Most pod casts I download are just MP3's. Am I missing something? Are there bookmarks or something?
As in a dedicated button for it, so i don't have to keep making playlists for specific podcasts. It would be nice to separate podcasts from music playlists. Its a nitpick really.
This is because i've been used to using ipods/itunes, and now that i use the sansa clip, i have to use a podcast client and make playlists. It would be nice if it were as easy.
(sold my touch b/c of the price drop, and to get the sony a729 when it releases)

I don't really follow. I tag podcasts with a "Podcast" genre, I don't use playlists. Whats a podcast client?
With itunes/ipod, you just open up itunes, and it will check updates for the podcasts channels you are subscribed to. Then you connect your ipod, then it automatically syncs new podcasts. So there's basically no work to it. Because i use WMP11 with my sansa clip, and WMP doesn't download podcasts, i have to download another podcast client to download podcasts (I use iPodder), which makes separate playlists based on different podcasts, which then is transferred to my sansa clip. Complicated, kinda.

I think what umgoblue2008 is referring to is the way iTunes handles podcasts. Within iTunes, podcasts are a completely separate category from music files. Further, iTunes allows easy searching of podcasts and once found, they can be subscribed to so that future episodes of that podcast are automatically downloaded for you ready to be synced to the iPod. The iPod itself has its own dedicated podcast menu option so they are distinct from regular music files. It's just a nice clean elegant approach to podcasts.
Contrast that with most mp3 players (including the Sony) where podcasts are treated just like any other mp3 music file so other than the fact that you can create a folder for your podcasts (or add the podcast genre to the mp3) they really are just lumped in with all other mp3's.
Furthermore, since these players are usually drag and drop, there is no special software that will go out and grab new podcast episodes for you. Thus you either use a podcast client to do that (like Juice, for example) or you manually download episodes from a website like podcast.com. For anyone who listens to a lot of podcasts, it's a lot more work than the iTunes approach.

Thank you. You explained it way better!
Oh and i believe Zune/Zune Media Player has dedicated podcasting support as well.
