Well because abi stands for AnyThingButIpod is certainly a forum where people who would be fair and qualified to judge ipod's sound quality. On that forum any dap has better sound quality then ipod according to it's members. Infact they're rate ipods as one of the worst daps. Where anyone sane would rate it as one of the better daps. But no need to be sane on ABI. After all it is anythingbutipod.

As far as the YP-P2 goes I see it as a pointless device that really offers nothing but inferior design to the touch. If you want all this functionality there are simple better daps out there from any angle. YP-P2 doesn't do anything well but isn't cheap.

Yeah, because everything that has a touchscreen and plays mp3's are ripoffs of the usheep touchmebadplaces. The fact that the cowon d2 has had a touchscreen since early last year, or the fact that PDAs have had it for years, clearly doesnt count - they used time machines to rip off the ipod! because we all know that once apple makes something, its original, and everything that looks like it are ripoffs no matter if they were out first

Yeah, we always talk about how awesome these Chinese OEM "MP4" players or the Eiger MPMan sound compared to each and every iPod... it's our favorite topic. Actually we don't do anything but iPod bashing (sic), cause we need to religiously defend our beliefs - if someone wants to hear them or not, if it is the right place to troll or not...

Indeed. We dont register on ilounge to advertise other players, dont register on abi to advertise ipods. You have to be fairle retarded to actually register on a site called "anything but ipod" and then be surprised to find there aren't any ipod fans. But anyways, I think this update is awesome, hopefully if they add some cool games and the GUI is actually better in januarys bluewave firmware update, I might get one.

Actually that's exactly what happens on anythingbutipod. Pretty much any thread with someone asking about a dap instead of an ipod has everyone on the forum replying the first reason to throw away the ipod is because of it's poor sound quality.

Even when someone asks for certain features where iPod would make the best choice people on the forum steer the person away from the ipod. Even if that device will CLEARLY not be as convenient at the tasks the person requested.

I always come on straight and true and say what I think. The problem is that a lot of under aged (physically or mentally) people on that forum feel insulted when you say that in your opinion the device that their soul is tied to sucks.
And of course it's all compounded by their unreasonable hate of anything apple.

No, that is certainly not true. However the YP-P2 in particular is a poor rip off the iTouch.

The irony is that the iPhone or iTouch (once jailbroken) is infact a *FAR* better PDA then all pda's I own and used over time.... which includes iPAQ 3800, Axim X5, Palm Tungsten T, Dell Axim X30 High, Dell Axim X50v (X50v being relegated to serve as my GPS these days).

On the other hand where would you find me stating D2 or PDAs are iphone/itouch ripoffs?

Case in POINT about maturity of anythingbutipod police. dkft is the admin on there seems to be patrolling head-fi for dissidents.

When a person comes to a forum called ANYTHING BUT IPOD and asks for a dap, and people recommend ANYTHING BUT IPODS, does that indicate some sort of connection between the site name and peoples action to you? Because it does to me. Maybe I'm just crazy.

As for the ipood dutch and the imoun.. the first is a nice concept that would have been nice had it been half the price, didnt need accessories costing half a countries annual budget, didnt require itunes, and had a web browser where such things as downloading actually was possible. Epic fail. as for the latter of the two, well, its a phone with a known name that has about the same tech specs as a budget phone two years ago. No 3g, and you cant even film with the camera. Personally I'd take the P2's abilities to connect to a real phone over that flat piece of wannabe-cellphone anyday.
