Nice. I've only been able to demo an E10 from an iRiver store while I was in Korea last year and haven't gotten much time to actually check the player out.
Have you listened to any other iRiver players? If so, can you compare them?
Thanks in advance.
Did you have time to make up any opinion on the sound on your demo?
The E10 isn't released in the USA yet, right? That's a shame, I wish it would be released all over the place so that they can rockbox it
Regarding other iRivers, I've only tried the T20 in comparison. My short experience was that E10 goes deeper/lower on the bass, something I like. It gives the music a great ground to stand on, at the same time it contains lots of detail. According to iRiver themselves, they concentrated the most on the sound when making E10 so it should sound a little better than their flashplayers.
Also, you have a couple of EQ's to choose from, and also a 5-band EQ on your own to play with. Together with my Sennheiser CX300 and just a little fiddling with the EQ, I've aquired a sound I find fantastic for a DAP
My rig updated a little bit:
Custom Wheel Coverz from iFrogs.com (image is copyrighted)
Custom Rockbox No-Frequency Scaling Build with Album Art capabilities and scrolling margins. :allteeth:
Here are a few pics:
I re-routed my cables a bit and have the Shure PTH module mounted with the PTH clip to the bottom opening on my Gigabag, the microphone line in jack is on top. It looks a lot bulkier and cumbersome in the pictures then it is in real life. Its not bad at all. Mounting the PTH instead of having sit in the back pouch makes using the Gigabag belt clip a lot easier.
For those of you who asked, here are two pics of my iVak case that has been modded to fit my ALO Mini2Mini with Right Angle Plugs. I used my dremel tool to sand down the opening at the 1/8th" jack to fit the size of the plug.
The modification, and then the iVak modded with the ALO Mini plugged in (The pics aren't the best of these, but I hope you get the drift):
