Default Phone SQ: LG vs iPhone vs Blackberry vs SE

I've seen that the iPhone has gotten alot of praise here in for it's good SQ, but has anyone compared how other phones do now in terms of SQ? Now, I'm talking purely in terms of SQ, not other features because they all kind of have their own specialty.

How does the Blackberry do for music compared to iPods or the iPhone? What about LG Chocolate and SE phones?

Yes.

iPhone/Samsung U900 Soul > Sony Ericsson W980i > Nokia N95/Sony Ericsson W960i > LG Viewty >> Blackberry Curve et al.

Just the most memorable models I've tried/owned/own.

iPhone has easily the best SQ I've ever heard out of a phone (or any DAP for that matter) from the HP out. To say its not even top 3 is just silly.

My iPhone 3G has been great...I've paired it up with D1001s for portable and is quite sufficient with good dynamics to drive up the headphones.
Still looking for a good IEM w/mic for the phone...not a fan of UE cables

Look at the Etymotic HF2. Those should fit the bill for good IEMs with mic.

PrototypeX2,

Get the Shure SE530, but instead of getting the PTH model add the Shure IPhone adapter cable (i've used it<-the PTH a few times and it did a pretty decent job, but not something you would use all the time) the adapter works great and calls are sooo clear (mic sounds very clear as well; I got somebody else to call me using it to see)... sounds like the OP is inside your head; I guess there's a reason shure made such a name for themselves by making microphones. FYI the shure adapter will work with any IEM, preferably one that has a modular cable design so you don't have way too much cable length. Any of the westone IEM's would also do a good job when paired with the adapter as they have a modular cable that has a junction just below neck level just like shures allowing you to use the clip to attach it to your collar or whatever.

I assume you are talking about the Triple.fi 10vi; I agree that the UE cable design is pretty crap IMO; I returned my triple.fi's after only one week because the left side cable developed a fault and distorted the audio in that ear.... one week for crying out loud!!!! pity because I liked the sound signature (after I tamed the highs a bit by putting complys on them anyway). and before anyone asks, yes I took care of them properly; not bending it this way and that. Just seems to be a weakness of the UE design. Of course you could get an ES cable.... doh then you would lose the mic. there are other inline mics for use with IPhones. I think belkin make one as well (which would mean a f#%kin white cable...meh). all of the quality ones do a reasonable job from the reviews that I have read; you can answer/disconnect calls, play/pause/skip tracks etc. without fishing your phone out of your pocket. And of course the shure adapter matches the SE530 perfectly

the U900 doesn't have a 3.5mm jack, doesn't the 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter make the sound worse?
