Nano hissing sound
I have this problem with this used Nano I bought on eBay. On some of the songs when I switch the equalizer, there is a slight hissing, static noise. Especially when I set the equalizer to Acoustic. Anyone know why?

The equalizer is the problem. I assume you hear no hiss without the equalizer?

When I turn off the EQ, the hissing sound sort of disappeared, but there is still a very slight hissing sound on the left ear phone ( ipod ear buds). It is barely noticeable. There is only hissing sound in few of the songs.
Most likely it's because of the EQ.
Anyone know how to fix that?
I am thinking of getting the Sennheiser px100 or cx300, would that be better?

You will still get some kind of distortion (the bad kind) using the iPod equalizer. It was just never good in the first place.

I am thinking of getting the Sennheiser px100, would that somehow reduce the hissing noise? Right now I am just using the ipod earbuds

Anything is better than those stock buds.
It depends on what you require. PX100 is okay but it has no seal (open design), where as the CX300 isolates pretty well but the bass is muddy. Can't complain about the price though.

Actually, I've found the Skullcandy Ink'd to be much worse.
