MP3 to WAV encoder?
Any recommendations on a good MP3 to WAV program? Something fairly easy to use?

I've always used Foobar2000's diskwriters plugin for that (place the file(s) you want to convert into the playlist, select them (hold down Shift or Ctrl to select more than one), right click and choose Convert > Run Conversion). The best settings for 16-bit WAV are 16 as the preferred bit depth and dither only for lossy sources and not use the DSP.

so is DBpowerAMP music converter...
both are googleable

Ok, the files I want to convert are apparently DRM encoded WMA's, and those programs failed.
Is there anything out that will let me convert DRM encoded WMA files?

DBpowerAMP is the best for this (at least for me). Why do you want to convert them? Do you know there are formats called FLAC that are lossles and are smaller?

"why would you want to"
Some things are available on mp3 that you can not find in any other format and if you want to compile these songs on a CD you need to convert them
not up to CD quality but still a must if that is all you have as a portable player or in the car

You could try the old WMA plugin for Winamp that let you use diskwriter, or you could use WMP to burn the to a CD then rip them.

Exactly. I have 2 WMA files as part of a promotional thing, and want to be able to burn them to CD. I'll try the aforementioned program, and let you know if it works.

But if you use Nero then it does the conversion for you before making the CD...

i have been using winamp for soooo long that it is natural to use it for all conversions (with the proper plugins) and then use other apps where they are needed
BTW-I use nero for all cd burning

Here is a great program to transcode and burn various file formats to WAV=> CD:

Burrrn is a little tool for burrrning audio CDs with CD-Text from various audio files. Supported formats are: wav, mp3, mpc, ogg, aac, mp4, ape, flac, ofr, wv, m3u, pls and fpl playlists and cue sheets. You can also burrrn EAC's noncompliant image + cue sheets! Burrrn can read all types of tags from all these formats (including ape tags in mp3). Burrrn uses cdrdao.exe for burrrning.
You can use any encoder/decoder you want for each format and just point burrrn to it in the settings. For example, I use LAME 3.90.3 for MP3 format but you could use any version of LAME or any other MP3 encoder/decoder that you wish. It doesn't get any easier than this!
