i have jailbreaked my 1.1.3 and it works quite well, safari is definately faster but i am getting a few more random crashes than before (which was never). as for hiss, it does hiss more than a normal ipod (which is very low) but it is quite amazing how little it hisses considering all the opportunities it affords its listeners.
indeed, i find it to be one of the best sounding portables i have heard as well. the base performance is quite superb as well, though not as thick or chock as the sony players which do it quite well if not slightly too emphasized.
i am only waiting on a line-in adapter or the ability to record line in from the likes of a turbo dock as 16gb of lossless recording would make concerts quite the damn good time
