Default iPod Mini 2G + Rockbox = ultra slow transfer rate

So I put the Rockbox 3.3 latest build on the Mini..
All ALAC files are either slow loading, have trouble playing or quit halfway..
So after some AB'ing between the Apple firmware and Rockbox 3.3 I found the following results using HD Tune 2.55

Apple iPod Mini 2G fw 1.4.1 :
Transfer Rate Min: 3.1MBps Max: 7.0MBps Average: 5.4MBps
Access Time: 21.5ms
Burstrate 1.9MBps

Apple iPod Mini 2G Rockbox 3.3 090701
Transfer Rate Min: 2.9MBps Max: 3.1MBps Average: 3.1MBps
Access Time: 22ms
Burstrate 1.9MBps

So though it should have enough bandwidth to play lossless with out error, it seems that Rockbox isn't stable on the Mini with ALAC.
I already bought a 16GB CF 133x from Kingston that is to arrive soon, but will it cure the instability or is it a codec problem?

The rockbox version should be stable (don't use a daily)
I have a CF16, and I never noticed any problems. I used flac which is basicly what ALAC was built off of, no problems.
