Default Iaudio x5 20gb. 169 dollars new at Amazon

Hello all,
I have a 30gb one and love it. Ordered this one for a back up when my trusty friend dies. Is this a good deal? Already ordered one. Wanted to share incase anyone is looking for this player.

I think I may have bought the last one. Put in my order yesterday and it is no longer listed as available.

Though a discontinued model, these units are likely, as they say in the tube world, new old stock (NOS). If you love this player, buy one now.

The X5 is an excellent player.

Of all the Cowon players I've used, the X5, IMO, is 2nd only to the A2.

If you plan to amp however, do not use the L/O dock to amp the X5, but use the HP/O jack instead.

The headphone out is better than the line out?

Due to a hardware fault, which I presume lies in with the hardware design of the X5 (not the dock, mind you, as same results have been obtained from non-first party docks), the L/O of the X5 has a bass drop off issue that is quite noticeable.

White = Dock L/O
Green = HP/O

IMO though, the X5 has an excellent enough sonic performance that you don't really need to amp it if you plan to use it OTG.

This is a great player. I would get it, but I need more capacity for size!

Now that you mention it, I do wonder what kind of HDD the X5 uses and what connection along with it.

It might be very well be a potential candidate for a high capacity CF Mod.
