[QUOTE=Thelonious Monk;3872207]Now that I've had a day to figure things out, it's just a 5-foot wigger. The only actual gang member on that bus is my friend. Also, I really only use my MP3 player on the bus and on my bike. I'll probably end up with a Clip.
Oh, well that makes it much better...lol.

Here's the advice from a 62 yr old "old fart"--get yourself a couple of those cheap $35 Shuffles, or a reconditioned Shuffle or two. Small enough to hide in a pocket.
Second--my son, , attended a art-based magnet school in Baltimore and had the same trials--taking public transportation thru some really weird sections of downtown Baltimore. Stuck with it, graduated, skipped college because he thought he knew more than the teachers (he was right) and now is a VERY successful artist in Santa Fe, represented by an art gallery there and in Las Vegas.
Moral of the story--be happy , stick with that art-based education, don't let anyone tell you you can't do it, and live your life to the fullest.

I'm being offended by a lot of the bigotry and homophobia in this thread. Maybe no one else is, but would you consider to stop?

For reference, I play music there. I couldn't dance or sing to save my life.

The bus is noisy and smelly anyway. I'm getting older friends to give me a lift now. Thanks for the motivation!

None of my black friends take offense from this term. Please inform me if there's another widely-known term for a neandrathaline white kid trying to imitate an urban black man, with a special emphasis on hip-hop culture.

White ***ger. Not offensive? Really? I'm not impressed by your black friends. Bigotry goes both ways. Its not alright just because a black person says it is.
I can understand being upset at a gangster or a wanna-be thug (there is your term), especially when they steal your iPod. That term however is a real slur that has a serious implication in where its background and true meaning lies.

Wow I seriously, until now, never realized what letter I could replace in "w****r" with an "n". I never realized that...I always thought that was just another word for "wangster" (there you go).

BTW, wangster is wanna-be gangster. These terms aren't terribly clever.

I could be wrong (considering I'm not part of the hip-now-wow crowd), but isn't the term simply "wanna-be" or "poser" for any of this stuff? I think perhaps those terms get off the racial implication and down to the real problem...that the person is trying to be something that they simply are not.

I don't know if someone has posted this, but go here ihound Software - Home.
It makes it so you can track your mp3 player if it gets stolen.
Only bad part is, you install it on a computer, and you go to any other computer and you can't access it.
Which is good for a thief, but if your at school or a friends house it kinda sucks, which is why I deleted it.
But still, if you want good safety, check the site out, it's pretty cool.

What is manaox2?
You are correct!
Urban dictionary for $600.
A person who acts/looks like a gangster or thug, but has never done anything gangster or thug-like besides acting or looking like one. It can be towards any race or ethnicity. The word does NOT imply a WHITE guy acting black.
What is wanksta?
Ding!

Wanksta isn't offensive, and to my mind it's gotta double meaning, being awfully close in root and meaning of wanker.
But the other word? Hell yes, and it's disgusting that people think that crap is ok, or that you have to explain to them why it's bad. I'm glad I understand.
/older than an offended college student.
/grew up in SC surrounded by this crap.

Good luck getting his ipod back? Monk, I think you'd be good with something like th the sony nwz-a810/s610 or something like that except when something is small, they all look like ipods anyway with the earphones sticking out. You don't use ibuds do you cuz that could be the problem jk
also,
I'm confused how this turns into a define wigger thread (*** little stars don't do much). Please stop already. It's childish.
It is what it is, we don't need people attempting to break it down so just leave it alone.
