Unhappy Creative Zen 16gb mp3 Player can't play AAC file?? It says file not supported!!!?

I have this Creative Zen. I did rip some cds using dBpowerAmp V 12.2 to m4a Nero AAC format(LC and HE). I am using windows XP SP2. My setting was VBR quality .95, estimated bit rate 400 Kbps(high quality) no forced profile and forced HE AAC both. I did this thinking, if one doen't work then the other one might!!

I used Windows Media Player 11 with Orban AAC-aacPlus to transfer files to my ZEN. I did it successfully(both HE and LC AAC) but eventually when i tried to play it, it displayed "File Not Supported". I can't understand what's happening. I can see both HE and LC AAC files on my ZEN but can't play it. Could any one plz help me out, I don't wanna use iTunes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What firmware are you using?
I heard some complaints about this on the Creative forums, you might want a different firmware.

Some like the very first firmeware, 1.03 or something, as they say it has less bugs.
You might want to try anything other than 1.20, as that might be the reason it won't play AAC files.

If you need a link for any firmware download of the ZEN, just ask.

I think you are going to get more immediate help on Creative's own forum. Another possibility, if I remember correctly, I believe there is an independent forum dedicated to Creative DAP users as well.

I'm running 1.20.02 on my 8GB Zen and I can play AAC files that were ripped from CD in iTunes. The files aren't drag and drop like MP3s and WMAs though. You'll need to import them onto the Zen with the Creative Media Manager.

You want my advice? Just use MP3.
