I'm interested in this player... any recent reviews or impressions?

TIA

I have the MuVo 2 also and love it. It drives the Portapro's and the Px-100's nicely but since the HD-600's are high impedence they would a little more power to drive them correctly. Also, for your information the Muvo 2 has a equalizer in its menu system. Arrowmark

I've been using mine for 3 days. It's a keeper, but here are my initial complaints:

-I want more volume control sensitivity. Comfortable listening volume for me while at work is 1/25. It would be nice to see more settings between the loudness at 1/25 and completely off at 0/25. (Using ety er4p.)
-Navigation leaves much to be desired currently. My RioVolt SP90 has better navigation (and more buttons). It would be nice to see Creative provide a firmware update with "double tap" features into the buttons to get more functionality (i.e. prev/next folder).
-Inability to access the buttons while using the provided case is becoming a pet peeve. I don't mind so much not being able to see the LCD (yet). I don't want the extra "dangliness" of the $50 optional FM remote.

I can hardly hear my Muvo2 at 1/25 even late at night. I normally use 12/25 for comfortable listening. In fact, Euro users have complained about the lack of volume (EU rules). Maybe, there is a hardware or firmware problem with your device. Try a firmware upgrade.

BTW, I like the FM remote. I use it a lot for voice recording of lectures.

With the stock buds and firmware ver. 1.11 I can't hear half the instruments on a recording below 5~6/25. I don't know about the etys but the isolation coupled with your hearing probably give you better attenuation.

woh. 1/25?? I must be deaf. I need this thing at near-full power for regular headphones. But yeah, navigation is suck. Buttons are suck. I don't really recommend this player to anyone because of the screen more than anything. But I have the old one with the Cornice drive. the newer ones that you can buy on eBay and turn into cheap flash-players, those sound like a good deal. a 512mb player for $150

I picked one up for it's size last week or so for active use. I haven't really gotten into it. But my main complaint would be the control pad thingy; it's too damn small. I kept on hitting enter instead of next or previous track. I have to say, the ipod (2nd gen) was much easier to use. I didn't get the mini ipod because i didn't like the company.

With the recent drop in price of Compact Fash Cards, I was able to make a 1GB Muvo2 Flash Player for only $170. Well worth it in my opinion. Better than paying $300-$400 for the Muvo2 X-Trainer, which I was able to make for less than helf the price.

EX71? 20-25 volume? Not enough Bass?
You sure you just can't hear the bass? Cause I'm sure I'd be losing my hearing if I went over 15 on the volume...

I've used the EX71 on my MuVo2 (received about 1:30 hours ago) and there's plenty of Bass. I'm using a flat line as well.

The small LCD is kinda crappy, but the buttons are kinda nice. I like touching them anyways... Navigation is kinda ****ty. Chiba had a much nicer arrangement, especially the EQ. EQ on MuVo 2 kinda sucks. To navigate through tons of stuff... if you have well organized folders, it's pretty easy. But if you're used to a big screen like zen, or ipod, or pda, then this two line (actually one line) will really kill you. Takes a little patience. But I'm not really one who pops up with the impulse to listen to a certain song that often... usually just shuffle the thing, and let it loose...

I'd write something of a detailed review of this player, but I'm still getting to know it. To do some testing, I figured I might as well use my dad's DT990's... I sorta started to use DT990s so much, that they sorta became mine. He's buying a pair of grados now.

But to do testing with DT990, it might be underpowered... and I don't have a pair of MX400s readily available... or anything else that offers good detail without the need for power. Oh well.

Is it just me, or do the cables for the stock earbuds look a lot like the ipod's earbuds?
