Cowon iAudio 7 and Shure SE530...do I need an amp??? - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio

Looking to add a pair of Shure SE530's to my collection. The question is:

"Do I need a portable amplifier to run the Shure SE530s? I would be using these earphones with my iAudio 7

Unless you want better "control" overall, as well as fixing the naturally biased high-end roll off, then you'll do fine.

I really think in a lot of ways the amp would be a lateral SQ move... considering you are going thru the HP out not line out. I have a couple HP amps and a iAudio 7 and there is just no need to lug around the extra baggage.
