Is burning in a headphone using an mp3 player bad for the player?
Or am I being too paranoid here? I have a bad history with technology. <_<

It's perfectly fine man, so no worries. There's no way you can damage the MP3 player with a headphone.

No reason. The MP3 player would just be doing what it normally does, emit signals which is converted into sound.
Actually, potential badness, it wears on your battery. Why not just use a computer?

Well, either I ruin my Fuze's battery, or my laptop's battery. Don't have a desktop anymore, so that's not an option, lol.

I've used my MP3 players to burn-in my portable amps 24/7 for three weeks straight (that's 504 hours). I experienced no problems with them.

If you can plug your Fuze into a USB wall charger it will play music and be powered off the wall power. Won't work connected to a computer though as when it is recognized by the computer it won't play music. Or any other source such as a laptop, computer, clock radio, stereo, etc. will work fine as burn in volume and duration are the most important things.

I wouldn't do it personally, there's a good chance of your earphones melting and your player may implode.
