Hi Kevin,

Just for reference on the results of this particular experiment:

How quickly did you cool the objects down?
How cold did you cool them to (-300F or -320F)?
How long did you "soak" them at the target temp?
How quickly did you allow them to return to ambient?

Just wondering as these things all matter.

I'm not trying to start a flame war, or bring into question Kevin's methods (I have a great deal of respect for him and his work), I'm just wondering...

Disclaimer--Yes, I do cryo treatment and offer cryo treated goods. So...

Peace,

Lee

Turns out one of the 3 baggies i threw in there also did not like the
cold, and came out very brittle. Not sure why. It was a no-name brand
anyway.

I'm expecting the person who had me do the cryo to post here soon.

Well i have virtually infinite control over all the numbers. In this case

Cool down to 80K at .1K per minute. (about 37 hours total)
Add liquid nitrogen to 1 inch over what is in the tank. temp = 75K
Soak for 1 week
Suck out the liquid nitrogen. (and dump it out on the floor!)
Warm up at .1K per minute. In fact due to the amount of heat
added, it actually warms up at the rate of about .08K per minute.

All numbers computer controlled with multiple eurotherm controllers.

Great, thanks for the info. Computer control is a wonderful thing! I like the Eurotherm controllers, although I tend to use Watlow's as I've been using them for years.

So just to clarify, you released LN2 vapor into the MVE cryo storage container allowing the parts under treatment to cool at about .1K per minute. Once the temp in storage container reached 80K you then allowed (ie., flooded the chamber with) LN2 to cover the parts under treatment?

Dumping LN2 onto the floor is always fun! Make a hell of a cool fog!

Peace,

Lee

Our audio components is as best as the weakest component in our lines up, but if we wanna go the the molecular level
Even if our cable was cryogenic treated but our solder or the tips of the connectors weren't, than it become bottleneck there (if we are talking at the molecular level, and the only level were cryogenic treatment seems to make some dubious standing)
So can we even see sufficient gains?
My two cents

The person is desperately trying to find a piece of music that will
show a difference between the before and after cables... Evidently
no such luck yet.

Offer still open to anyone that wants to try...
I have a virtually unlimited supply of liquid N2.

I can even do liquid helium, but that ain't cheap. And you would
be paying for it.
