Lots of people keep mentioning Vegas.
First and foremost, there needs to be a big local presence. There has not been significant meets (100+ attendance )there in the past.
And while some may love the idea of going to Vegas, there are simply too many trade shows and conventions held in Vegas. I go to Vegas 1-2 times a year bare minimum already, as I'm sure plenty of others here do.

Agreed, it'll definitely be a fun trip to make but I don't think there are many locals head-fiers around to make it work.

Chicago or Seattle would be nice. Anyone have an idea as to the top ten Head-Fi member cities in the US (assuming the next CanJam will not go out of the US yet):
NY
LA
Chicago
SF-San Jose
Miami-FL
...
...
...

Chicago, then maybe the DC area, if it's to keep moving around. A strong team on the ground is a must, and an area where many people can get to easily. Hopefully, this year's CanJam has inspired people to throw more meets in general in their own areas. Who knows what that can bring in a couple years?

DC is something I would think to be really feasible, as is Chicago. Having it Manhattan though, seems to me to be hardly worth it.

And why would that be? We have a rather nice island here.
And on that note, I've had my eye on the Embassy Suites in Battery Park City for a while now. With Merrill and Lehman having, um, problems, I think the Embassy Suites likely would be willing to cut a nice deal. Regardless, I fully support Chicago. Just throwing this out there.

I would not mind a meeting outside the US...
But sadly I don't think that is feasible, since we probably don't have the needed initiative or experience.
New York City would be great, but anywhere on the east-coast may work.

I get in trouble every time I'm in Vegas.

I agree with the Monkey. On second thought, if I do return to Manhattan, I am bound to get in to major trouble. Nothing good can come from me revisiting my old stomping grounds. I hope all the evidence of past debauchery has been erased by now.

Greg, as you know, we are fortunate in that Legal-Fi makes a strong showing at major meets. Therefore, you will be safe as a kitten. Unless, of course, Legal-Fi finds itself incapacitated or in hiding due to its own (alleged) participation in assorted high jinks and tomfoolery.

So you are saying all confessions, even while under the influence of Isley or Bordeaux products are covered by attorney/client confidentiality? Cool, I'm in.

Well, let me say this, confessions made when under the influence of such products are among the safest that can be made because, generally, neither client nor attorney remember such utterances the next morning.
Tabula rasa FTW.

montreal.....not!
I would suggest Montreal, but I have to restrain myself for two reasons:
1) We've never done a big meet with alot of headfiers, but
2) We'll have a booth for the whole SSI show next year! The organizer, Michel Plante, contacted me right after the meet to tell me he was very pleased with the result and would like to have us as regular exponents next year. SSI = big meet, in an hotel, with thousands of people! Isn't that maaaaaarvelous?
