Default So much gear to try out but what is best format to bring to try stuff on!

I'm so looking forward to CanJam and meeting folks, and obviously of course, listening to new gear: DACs, amps, 'phones....

But something I'm wondering is what's the best thing to do to try songs out on? CDs? Lossless from Laptop? My cruddy Ipod shuffle I detest?

Mostly there will be CD players (some SACD players) and audio PC's.

I personally bring a couple of CD-R's with compilation of music I'm intimately familiar with, making sure to include tracks with great sound quality as well as less stellar tracks that are useful in evaluating gear.

I then bring a USB stick with the same tracks (lossless) to use on computer transports.

One can bring tons of CD's, but there is so much gear to listen to and not enough time, so for any kind of useful evaluation, it's imperative to play the same tracks you know on each system. Just my 2 cents...

A flash drive and CDR is a great combo, cheers!

I'm bringing a couple of folders of mostly SACDs. I'll leave one at my table with my gear and wander around with the other one to listen to other rigs.

I made 3 demo CDs, put music on flash drive as well, plus have my iMod with an RCA LOD (and portable LOD).

Usually, it's best to take a few of your favorite CDs or maybe a couple self-made demo CDs. Unless you really really like DSOTM and plan to hear it all weekend long, take your own music.

Vendors will be showing off some portable gear, so bring your mp3 player or laptop.
