Sign up now for a table at Can Jam '09
Hey everyone,
Start times for Saturday and Sunday ared 10am, end times for Saturday and Sunday are 5pm.
hopefully by now, you've gotten approval from the family/boss/pet goldfish, have booked your room, arranged transportation, and registered to attend the headphone event of the year, Can Jam 2009 (and if you haven't, WHAT are you waiting for?)
Now all that is left is for you to sign up for table space to display and exercise your gear! Vinyl, CD, computer, or portable based rigs are all welcome, as would be headphone-oriented home theater. No matter what kind of setup you have, we can find a place for you.
Shown below is a map of the hotel floor hosting the meet. The main member rooms are the Catalina rooms, B through D, in red at the lower right corner of the map. The neighboring Newport and Santa Monica rooms will host vendors and their equipment.
Following that is a display of each Catalina room, with the tables individually numbered. A list with those tables which have been reserved, and by whom, follows. There will be two members assigned per table, unless one specifically requests more space. Any member with a forward slash (/) to the right of their name indicates that a shared space at that table is still available.
Space in Catalina D will be reserved as a dedicated "Summit-Fi" high-end room. If you would like consideration for that space, please PM me with details of the rig you intend to bring. [Note: the lineup for the Summit-Fi room is effectively set at this point. You can still contact me if you'd like to be a reserve in the event that a member is unable to come or otherwise use their space.]
For space in Catalina B or C, please post in this thread which table you would like, first come, first served. Please do not request table space until you have registered for the event, here.
You can list the equipment you plan to bring in this thread.

I'm in!
After my weekly visit with Jack Bauer, I noticed that the table assignments were starting. But enough about me,.. here's the rig(s) I'll be presenting for your listening pleasure;
Technics RS1500 reel to reel (modified) playing Tape Project tapes
Bottlehead Repro amp
McAllister EA-8
He Audio Jades
MacBook playing high rez (96/24) downloads
Metric Halo ULN-2 (battery mod)
Eddie Current Zana Deux
Audio Technica AD2000
I haven't seen anyone with the McAllister's newest 'stat amp but I ordered it with a 600v XLR (for the Jades), Stax pro and Senn. connectors so we'll be able to see how it stacks up against the other high bias amps.
Yeah, before you ask, getting this amp was like pulling teeth and I just got it. I'll do a little review before the meet.
See ya there!

Hey #'s. You got the Stacker huh? Can't wait to check it out.
I think there's something fishy goin' on with the AD2000's in all of the first three rigs.
This should be a real barn burner of a meet though. With all the new high end headphones being released;
HD800
PS1000
Ed-8
D7000
Jades
I think someone's been taking notice of our little community lately!
I've said it before and I'll say it here;
This is the golden age of headphones!
I sure would like to sneak into AKG (I guess Harmon Int. now) and Sony's R&D to see if they're planning on releasing statement products.

I plan to bring a Stax Sigma/404 (Sigma with 404 drivers and cable modified for me by Yamasinc. the US Stax distributer) run from a Stax 717 amp . There are probably less than 6 such Sigmas in existence and I may have had the first one made.
I plan to bring a CEC 5100Z belt drive cd player/driver, Musical Fidelity A324 DAC and Monarchy Jitter reducer.
I am local (Riverside County).

I added a Nakamichi Dragon or CR-7A cassette deck to my list. These are "maybe", but I thought it would be nice to have an analog source, and both of these are top-notch for its genre.
