That's a good question. Honestly, I would venture that there would be many that are interested in DIY. Any DIY. It's just always interesting to see people make things. That's why tourist sites always have people making things (1800's town tours always have that blacksmith working on something or Native American campsites always have that canoe maker and etc.). As for what the focus is, I would say that should be up to the table attendant because it should be whatever they are comfortable with.

jp11801, I think a consignment table would be a great idea.
Let members check in headphones, amps, dacs, stuff that they would like to sell / trade. Then let prospective sellers / buyers / traders browse the items and then work out the details.

hey that is a great idea but I have two concerns
1) who is going to staff the table?
2) who would conduct the transaction as they seller is dropping off the goods to the table?
The org group is going to have its hands full with what is currently scheduled unfortunately and will not be able to staff a consignment table. I would not however be opposed to someone volunteering if :
1) the person operating the table did not profit
2) liability for any issues with either gear or transactions were contained within the buyer/seller/person operating the table.
Where I was headed for is what San Jose did which was to put up a white board with a WTB and FS sections.
I bought a Grado PS-1 that way.

Yes, security would be a big issue in my mind. I certainly would not want to take responsibility for someone Else's gear, that it was not scratched accidentally by someone auditioning it and that the sales transaction goes off without a hitch.
The white board idea to connect sellers to buyers is a great idea.

I agree with all the concerns raised. A white board is a great idea, just to get fellow head-fiers connected at the meet.

That white board idea seems really good. I was just wondering if there would be any selling/buying allowed among members.
Is there going to be some kind of agenda released before that weekend? I'm sure some of us like myself have no idea what to expect.

I hope so! I'll be bringing the unobtanium stainless 58mm volume assemblies. Edit: Not for sale at the show however. That is against the rules.

Sure there is buying and selling allowed between members. But I need t make a distinction between a member selling a piece of gear they own and a member say selling 20 cables they made for the purpose of turning a profit. The former is allowed the latter is not at member tables.
Yes an agenda is on the way, we'll have something published on Headfi but also one will be given out to members when they register.

Perhaps you can start a thread regarding this topic. There seems to be a lot of interest but no one has stepped forward to organize any smaller get togethers.

I'm putting together a small list of suggestions for eateries and such for the CanJam Brochure.
Anyone know of a decent Vegetarian/Vegan restaurant near LAX that we could list?
