Default Kathy Peck of H.E.A.R. to Talk Sunday at CanJam

Kathy Peck of H.E.A.R. (Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers) will be speaking at CanJam on Sunday in the Carmel Room at 11am.

Kathy has been working with musicians and music lovers since 1988 as the Executive Director and co-founder of HEAR. Pete Townshend of the Who provided a seed grant that gave HEAR its start as well as media attention after coming our about his own hearing loss.

Kathy has worked with Lars Ulrich of Metallica, Ray Charles, Todd Rundgren,
Pete Townshend, Meatloaf, Ted Nugent, Robby Kreiger of the Doors, Michael Patton and Roddy Bottum of Faith No More, Les Claypool of Primus,
Elliot Easton of the Cars, Spinal Tap, Sonic Youth, DEVO, Stephen Stills, Ozzy Osbourne, Wyclef Jean and Moby in helping spread HEAR's message.

Kathy has spoke at The National Association of Music Manufactures (NAMM), The Audio Engineering Society (AES), CES and SxSW. She also maintains an outreach program by regularly attending concerts with volunteers to hand out hearing protection.

Her latest venture is a new PSA featuring Moby, Ozzy Osbourne and Wyclef Jean called Listen Smart.

Please join Kathy in the Carmel room to learn more about the work she has been doing with HEAR, helping all of us enjoy music longer by Listening Smarter!

Part of the CanJam raffle proceeds will be donated to HEAR. You can also help HEAR with a personal donation through a paypal contribution located on their website.
