Crust is not supposed to be soft. That's why it's called "crust".

If you want to try some real pizza, come to NY and partake in some of the offerings presented by Ray's Pizza, Ray's Pizza II, The Original Ray's Pizza, and Not Ray's Pizza!
The story is, when the dad (Ray) died or gave up the business, all of the brothers duked it out and tried to start their own pizzerias wanting to keep the "Rays" famous name.

You fold the slice after you use a napkin to blot up the grease (or not). Hey immtbiker - my in-laws told me, when I asked for a NYC pizza recommendation, that Ray's locations vary widely in quality. They sent me to a John's - yummy.

If you're referring to a Giordano's stuffed crust type pizza, that's only one variety of Chicago style pizza. You also have the cornbred crust, sausage patty Gino's style and, my favorite, the Uno's style pizza. Please don't confuse the pizza found in the Uno's chain restaurants with those found in the original Uno and Due locations. It's not at all the same and nowhere near as good.

My favorite pizza in Chicago is Gino's East. Their sausage patty is just awesome!! The cornbread crust is the best too!

Sheesh, it's only been ten days and already I can't wait.
My good sir, my friends and I have worked something out that you may enjoy.
The Bacon Weave, affectionately referred to as The Weave. There is a picture of it somewhere (thread titled; I invented a new food, or something to that effect) We have modified it, adding ground chorizo sausage and sauteed onions into the middle. We are contemplating mushrooms.

You sir, are my hero. 'Sconnies are terrible drivers, but they do know their meat.

I'm familiar with Uno's. But it's been a long time since I've had the original. I'll need to refresh my taste buds.
