bring your own cds. Bring your gear if you want to, or don't if you don't. If you want to see what stuff sounds like in your rig, bringing it is a great way. And go ahead and get a table, there will be space.

Quick skim of the 09 table thread doesn't have any prices? How much are they?

Members didn't pay for a table spot, but we did have to ration space a bit to fit everyone in (had a much better vendor turnout than initially expected).

Oh cool. Guess I'll have all my crappy lowmid-fi stuff out for people to hear.
Wonder if I can just leave that stuff there? Don't wanna be in front of my own junk all day.

Pretty much everyone just leave their stuff there unattended. You don't have to worry about it. Once you get your stuff setup, you go enjoy Canjam.

I just want to say... could we please please pleaaaaaase time the event to avoid finals for young budding audiophiles? I had to miss the LA one, local for me, because the timing was exactly when I had to take care of final projects.
Needless to say, I cried myself to sleep for a couple weeks before and after the CanJam.

I echo the sentiments of many by saying I have never been to Chicago, would be great to bring wifey-poo for a long weekend, let her go shop while I get to see and hear some amazing things...maybe the Blackhakws will make it farther into the playoffs next year and I can a game!
Hopefully you will see a few Canucks there too!

and for those who are unsure: NO KETCHUP. That stuff doesn't belong anywhere near a Chicago dog.
Looking forward to it! Here's to hoping it's somewhere on the north side Heck if the timing is right and we get organized soon enough, we should make an effort to buy a block of Cubs tickets (blocks, BTW, are often easier to buy than single tickets).
Oh, and acidtrip, seems unlikely that you'll do a road trip unless I pick you up

No matter where in Chicago, I'm still going to have a nice short road trip of about 3 hours +/-.
If we're trying to be easily accessible to the largest proportion of head-fiers then the south side/O'Hare area makes the most sense. Need to be handy to the airport most will be flying into as well as easy to reach for our members who will be driving in. I would think most would consider up to a 4 hour trip for a national meet. That includes folks in not just Illinois, but IN, WI, MI, OH, PA, MO and others I have no doubt forgotten. This will potentially draw from Detroit, Indianapolis and St Louis.
No easy task for our CanJam '10 team to balance proximity to O'Hare, cost, space, location, etc.

Hmm atleast Chicago is a bit closer than Cali is to ND. As someone who is just getting into good headphones this thing really sounds like a can't miss opportunity. Need gas money though :/ Or.....maybe a plane ticket would be just as nice Could always head into Fargo and be on a plane to Chicago

Just save a dollar or two a day, and you'll have your plane ticket right there!

Yes, just drink one less coke and eat one less donut everyday and the money will be there.
