I'd love to join. Will it be accessible by CTA?

I seriously doubt they've had time to do much research into venues let alone pick one yet.

Whoever is doing the "live music" organization please get a good blues bar for an option. Buddy Guy's place was a magical place for me one night. Buddy Guy’s Legends » Keeping the Blues Alive for 20 Years
Can't wait for this meet.

actually considering the idea of 08 and the Chi-Uni-Fi events i would say a good part of the Southside hotels have been scouted already by Italian made Santoni shoes and few Downtown and Northside places also.
This weekend the group will focus on where to aim our sights (amoung other topics). All parts of Chicago (north, South, and west) have plently of positives and negatives to each..
but to answer HF fantatic: pretty much anywhere you need to go in or around Chicago land you can get there by the CTA or Pace very very very easily...unless your going East, then your going to need a snorkel and those really funny looking fins you wear on your feet.

Very happy with the selection as long as it is not in January. Hopefully North side so the Milly-Wa-Kee-Ans don't have to drive as far and near some top notch pizza places.

I could not think of a better excuse for my first trip to Chi-Town! I'll definitely have to take a few days and soak it all it!

If I go, I'll be eating lots of deep dish pizza and talking with my mouth full in the lounge area during meet time. Probably not very productive.

Just wipe the sauce off the equipment after trying them out

Deep Dish is so cliche. Go for Italian Beef (w/ hot and sweet peppers) and Hot Dogs (w/ mustard, onion, a pickle spear, tomato slices, bright green relish, sport peppers and celery salt). And someone will have to make the pilgrimage for the duck fat french fries:
Hot Doug's

Guess I'll go ahead and ask this here,
How does bringing your own stuff to a meet go? Should I bring CDs to use with other people's equipment or will I have to use theirs? Should I bring my own (Admittedly lowmid-fi) gear even if I'm not getting a table?
Hooray noob questions, It's like I'm a 100+ again!
