2009 was an incredible year with how much headphone and headphone-related goodness was released to the consumer. I wonder what 2010 has in store.............. (things that make you go "hmmmmmm")

There's rumor of a new AKG flagship, but I'll believe it when I see it. It would be very cool though.
Maybe the JH15, so they could cram 8 drivers in each ear. (The JH13 does sound incredible for an IEM, though)
Sennheiser HD750, which has bumped up bass. Some people have requested this but I doubt it will happen. I wouldn't want it.
The Grado BS1000 H3AD-F13, for $2700. (Don't get grumpy, Grado fans, it's only a joke.)
The HeadAmp Pico Atkins (for those who think the Slim is still too big).
Did I miss any?

Any chance in the years to come for the International Head-Fi to be hosted in Canada - say Toronto?

I think Toronto is a beautiful city and I would say Canada, especially Toronto, presents a more viable option for a meet of this type than some other areas like in Europe. Some key questions to ask are:
1) Would American vendors be willing and able to travel to Toronto? I don't see a reason why, the cost of travel and transporting gear shouldn't be that prohibitive, customs might be fun, but shouldn't be an issue. Let's remember that the vast majority of our vendors, who are crucial to helping making CanJam a success, are from the United States, therefore the meet's location needs to accomodate to their convenience. Also, the area needs to have a diversity of options of hosting such a large meet. Sorry Oslo, Norway
2) Does the area have a reputation of consistently throwing larger meets? Chicago has essentially been preparing to host Canjam 2010 for maybe 3-4 years now - in those years we have thrown 2 major audio events with vendors from all over the place (Chiunifi), with several meets hosted by some of our very own crew members that were relatively significant in numbers, plus the experience of throwing raffles, accomodating various vendors, etc. The experience the crew has with these meets in the past couple of years has given us the groundwork and framework upon which to build further to develop what is known as a "CanJam"
3) Does the area have an organized, centralized "crew" or set of dedicated people that are willing to devote thousands of volunteered hours to promoting, facilitating, and supporting a major event of this caliber? Again read #2 but it took Chicago a while for us to get where we are now, not an easy feat, which takes time to develop over a period of time. Sorry Oslo Norway
There are many other facets, but those are the top 3 I can think of, all 3 which have made Chicago the best option for CanJam 2010. I would recommend Charlie or anyone else from the Toronto area, that if you would like to see a CanJam in your area, the work starts now, and only you can determine whether you want to see that be a reality. Take it into your own hands, rather than waiting for others to step up, if you truly believe and feel Toronto would be a great place - which IMHO I think would be a fantastic place to have one.

Right - it is the PEOPLE, not the city, that make the events work.
I love Toronto BTW and would take almost any excuse to go back there

A suggestion re) the date:
I don't know if a date has been nailed down yet, but I was thinking...
Since folks are going to be coming in from all over the country for this, I'm wondering if there were any way to plan it, say, the week prior to the weekend of 4th of July? That would give folks the opportunty to hang around for a few more days and then drive 3 hours or so up the western shore of Lake Michigan and go to Rothbury!
For anyone who is unfamiliar:
ROTHBURY FESTIVAL
It's sort of like Bonnaroo in northern Michigan.
I know there are lots of considerations for an event like this. Just a thought...it could turn it into the biggest week+ long Head-Fi bash of all time!!

Eli "Paperboy" Reed - Roll With You | Eric Clapton - S/T [Deluxe Edition] | Joseph Arthur - Temporary People
Dennis Wilson - Pacific Ocean Blue | Leonard Cohen - The Essential Leonard Cohen | Ryan Adams - Cardinology
