Speaking of parking, we're going to stay at the hotel overnight but they charge an astounding $18.00 for self-parking and $26.00 for Valet. I guess they figure most people who stay at the hotel are coming in from out of town and have no need to park a car they don't have.

I believe as part of Head-Fi you are entitled to a discount rate of $10. Check the beginning of the thread it is there somewhere. As for the $26 valet parking charge that includes a paparazzi free parking area and hotel entrance.

I just registered. So what time will the doors to the meet open Saturday morning? I can't find any info about that.

Please use the link provided above to register for CanJam 09 LAX.

This year's event will be really spectacular. We have new headphones from Sennheiser, Grado, Ultrasone and most likely a few more to be named later. We should also see more than a few new amps at this event as well.

Did I mention Steve Hoffman is going to be rocking the Blue Note jazz series and we also have a few other tricks up our sleeves.

The real reason to register and attend though is to meet, greet and party with all the awesome Head-Fiers you have come to know on-line and now can raise a toast to in person.

Update: pre event tickets are $20 and $15 for students, tickets at the day of the event will be $25 (cash) at the door. Please have guests register at headfi first then they can register through the link.

Thanks
JP
I am trying to register myself and my 11 year old son for CanJam 09. My paypal email address is different from my head-fi email address, and there is no where to include a note with the payment about who I am.

Does registering for CanJam while logged into head-fi attach the member ID to the payment, so a note is not needed?

Does my 11 year old have to sign up for head-fi account, to register for CanJam? Confused.

PS: Our plane tickets and hotel room were already booked earlier tonight, bunking up with Blutarsky and my son. Just need to register for the actual event!

Yes, I need to register some guests too without actually making them sign up for a head-fi account. Please have some capability for this setup. And are tickets sent, or how exactly do you prove you bought entrance passes?

I am not certain about this in the long run, but what I discussed with jp11801 was asking members to pre-register but not bother with pre-registration for guests who do not want to be members also. You will simply pay for guests at the meet rather than through the pre-registration page. Badges for those who pre-register will be prepared by the organizers ahead of time and then they will be handed out when you sign in at the meet registration table. Your badge will have your name and your avatar (if you have one) on it. Your guests will get badges that say "Guest" on them.

The way you would do it is this:

1. bcwang registers at the Registration Page.

2. bcwang posts his attendance and how many guests he will bring to the meet in the Roll Call thread. Example: bcwang + 3 guests will attend!

3. bcwang and guests arrive at CanJam and go to the registration table. bcwang picks up his personalized badge. Your guests will then pay the appropriate price (full or student w/ID).

4. Rock out at the meet and have the blast of your audio lifetime.

So my 11 year old son is my guest he will only have to pay $15 at the door and not the $25 full fee, even if he doesn't pre-register? I registered myself on Monday while logged into head-fi, but did not register him. He wants to get a head-fi account, but may not be old enough.

I also posted in the Roll Call thread on 4/27 that I was coming and bringing my son as a guest, but the first post list of peeps wasn't updated and I was not sure it was noted: Roll Call!!! Who is coming to CanJam 2009?!

OK, so that issue fits into the uncertain part of my post. That is my recommendation to this year's organizers but somebody will have to give the official word on it. I think it should be as easy as possible so that everybody who wants to sign up guests can do so without penalty. The lack of guest registration on the pre-registration page should not be held against you, imho. I think the lead organizers agree, but I will leave it to them to post an official comment.

As for the roll call thread, it gets updated occasionally and will be complete whenever the pre-registration is cut off. Obviously, people are able to just show up and pay at the door, but why miss out on the very sexy custom badges that will be made up for pre-registered members?!

I do not understand the registration page at all. First of all, I do not have a pay pal account. So when I try to register, there is no other way to enter but through the pay pal option. What should I do. I hate to book an airplane to come to LA and find that all ticket is sold out. How do I register, is there another way? What are the contributing member 1,2,3 or 4 option. Just don't understand without more plain instructions.

Don't worry, the tickets will not be sold out. Book your plane ticket and you will get in.
