Can Jam 2009 Travel and Cannonball Run Thread
Thought I'd start a thread for people to post and coordinate travel plans. Be it catching same flights with other Head-fiers, or even a cross country cannonball run Head-fi convoy of awesomeness even.
So post flight deals for those that find them, and maybe even an itinerary for those driving a long way.

We also need to get an interest check from the California folks north of LA who might want to go in on a Magic Bus trip of sorts. JP#s had the idea that we could pitch in together on a bus that would drive down Thursday or Friday and come back maybe late Sunday or early Monday. We could do a full-on party bus if enough folks are interested in getting themselves and their gear down to the big meet in style.

Interesting idea! I might have some space available in my rig as well, but I could only accommodate about 10 people max.

If anyone needs picking up from the Burbank airport or some relatively nearby airports, I'm down. I don't need gas money or anything, just testing of headphones and amps and dacs.
Also, recommendations of music.

There is a slight chance I will be there. If so, I can fly into SF by noon on Friday and fly out of LA on Sunday. Save a seat for me on the bus if it's doesn't leave before noon.

A Bus, Magic or otherwise sounds a fun way to get from Here to There. It will be interesting to see how the interest/Economics/Logistics develop. More fun than having to deal with the TSA, that's for sure

I'll probably end up driving down ( to stay in town latter) but I've taken a few charter bus trips in my time (and I do mean trips) and they're a nice way to go.
The drivers have always been really cool (imagine what some of their passengers are like!) and it's totally relaxing (very easy to sleep on the way back). You can find a couple of central points with safe public parking and have the bus go around and pick-up and drop-off too.

I'd be happy to drive people from the Burbank or Long Beach airports to the hotel. Won't accept payment, either.
I plan to take the 29th off work and will be free all weekend.

Hilton Provides Free LAX Shuttle
Remember all you fliers, the Hilton will provide free airport shuttle so catching you flight out should be pretty easy.

I'm not completely sure if I'm going to attend Can Jam yet, but what days would the bus most likely leave to and from LA? Also, approximately how much would it cost per person?
I just want to get a more specific idea of travel accommodations to help me decide.
