Yes, the overall layout will be different for this Can Jam. Instead of one big member room, it will be several smaller rooms, with some being dedicated to more specific gear, like electrostats and K-1000's for example.

LOL, yeah just remember to take note of what it really says as you pass by...
Nice photoshop job btw.
I'm also working on getting sound isolating booths, hopefully that pans out.

that wasn't what i was getting at, but it could be a late night possibility for those so inclined.
in a nutshell, we're thinking about a pre-meet on Friday night, which only Members of the Trade can show their stuff and attendees will have to have backstage passes or something like that... we are hopeful, it should provide ultra-good meet listening conditions, like never before.

as Jasper noted, that can is still being kicked down the road... towards the end of summer, Tyll and i spoke about the possibility of him bringing his headphone measurement device to Can Jam '09 to take frequency responses especially of those discontinued and rare headphones such as the R10s, L3000s, just to mention two. his main concern at the time had to do with meet noise levels, so for it to be worthwhile an isolation booth would be instrumental. as for the k-1000s/electrostatics, we are planning to house those in one of the many smaller type private listening rooms and in that environment a booth might be overkill, though, you never know.

Any thoughts of resuscitating the DIY panel idea? Good idea last year that didn't pan out.

I would be all for that and if anyone wants to pick up the mantle and put something like that together I'd support if whole hog. I think many in the community do not realize some of the best sounding amps out there are not commercial builds or designs.

Sounds like fun. Since it's so close to me, of course I can't miss it! lol
I lol'd at the picture in the original post. I'm pretty sure that's a strip club.

John,
Great work by you and your team of co-workers. Maybe a small room for the Eddy Current (ZanaDeux types). I plan to be there, and at least bring Stefan AudioArt's new umbilical cord for the Zana Deux to let the west coast ZD owners see if they like the new cord.
This is wonderful news to bring in the new year!

Can you guarantee that it won't snow that day. I hate wearing down and scarfs in SoCal.
Will Governor Schwarzenegger make an appearance?

Hey David, I'll be there with my ZD and I'd be happy to let it be A/B'ed on my rig. Craig will definitely be there also and I'd imagine that he'd at least be sharing a room. If that's the case, I think that the quieter environment would make a comparison much more meaningful. I know I'll be interested in hearing the difference myself.

Sorry no Celine Dion we couldn't come up with the one million dollar appearance fee, besides I'm guessing most people will dg the guest speakers we're working on better.
