Headfi just had a huge meet almost the equivalent to a Canjam in Queens,NY on March 21 st of this year; only a couple of weeks ago. I believe that all the canjams or at least all the next couple of canjams will not be held in NYC as the first and original Canjam of Headfest was held in NYC in 2006. Scottsmrnyc

I don't mean to dwell on a topic but at the 2008 CanJam in Ft Lauderdale, I bought four T Shirts at around $20 each not $50 each. I hope the prices for the Canjam 2009 T Shirts will not be hovering at the $50 range. Scottsmrnyc

Do you guys know if Smyth Research is showing up this year? After reading about their system at last year's canjam, I def think they'd be a huge hit again this year.

Default Smyth Research Will Be At Can Jam 2009!

Yes, Smyth Research is on board for Can Jam 2009.

When I had a personal demo of their technology at the So Cal summer meet I was really really impressed. For those who have never experienced the Smyth gear, you must give them a visit.

Right-o, Smyth Research should be a high priority destination at Can Jam 09 for those of you that haven't experienced their system yet. It isn't often that an actual game changer gets introduced to the audio market.

At this point, there is no set destination for CanJam 2010. Maybe Chicago? Or Las Vegas? New York or somewhere else out East? Hard to say. More than anything, it depends on where the next group of organizers happen to be. It's just a matter of standing up and saying, "We can do this too!"
Dang, alright, I guess I1ll just keep my eyes glued to this site and watch for a date. I need to attend one of these shows!!!!!!!!

I can not believe your telling me this. I live in White Plains, I could have been there in 45 minutes. Well, hopefully I will not miss the next one. All the fun and energy that seems to be surrounding these events, I need to experience for myself.
Does anyone have pictures of these T-Shirts you guys are talking about?

The t shirts are not made up as of yet. I was just inquiring as to when they might be ready to go on sale. Scottsmrnyc

you never know where the next Annual Meet (CanJam) will be held, I don't have any say in the matter but I'd wager Chi-town in 2010

You are on target at $20 as that is what we are trying to come in at. We were looking at a high end T-shirt but may not be able to accomplish that added item.

I would say at this point we'll taking reservations prior to the meet and handing them out/collecting $$ at registration.

It would be kinda kool if everyone who is attending CanJam '09 would chime-in and be added to a list on the first post. Just a thought. Edit: are there any specific festivities planned for either Friday or Saturday evening? Are exhibitors setting up tables on Friday evening or early Saturday morning?

There are no specific meet-wide activities scheduled for Friday and Saturday evening as yet; organizing anything for all attendees would be an even bigger challenge than what is already on the agenda. Organizing something is desirable but getting vendors there and set up, making sure the event goes off on time and as planned and making sure the attendees have a great experience is currently exhausting all resources.

Anyone willing to start a thread and try to co-organize something is welcome to do so for now.

Vendors are planning to set up Friday afternoon and evening and a few Saturday morning.

Default Can Jam Airfares Are Dropping

I posted this in the roll call thread but this information is appropriate here as well. A fellow Head-Fier has passed along that for those who have not yet booked a flight reservation, or not sure they can afford to fly out to Can Jam, they should be watching the airfares. Lately, perhaps because of the economy, fares on most of the major carriers on flight to LAX, have been dropping steadily.

Round trip airfare from Denver to LAX has dropped from $200 last year to $120 recently. $120! That's a weeks worth of Starbucks for Billy.................

Yeah, it would be great if we could tempt more of our brethren from back east or across the pond to attend the exposition. ;-)
