Is there an entrance fee? I assume there is, is it at the door or is there going to be a place I can register? Still a complete noob although I've been trolling for a year or so. :-)

Check the Cannonball thread or start your own for carpooling participants. You might be surprised at the positve responses and it would be worth the shot IMO. Who knows you could have a mobile meet from FLA to LAX.

HEAD FI
Can Jam 2009 will pick up where the superb efforts of predecessors in New York, San Jose, and South Florida left off, offering attendees the widest possible array of headphone listening experiences and entertaining extracurriculars. Many generous members, volunteers, and vendors will see to it. Have no doubt, the bar will rise, as surprises will heighten the National Meet experience, and set an example for the many years surely to follow. Keep returning to this forum to see announcements for vendors, guest speakers or entertainers that have been added to Can Jam 2009.
The organizing committee features the midnight-oil-burning team of JP11801 (John), 909 (David), Velogreg (Greg), Edwood (Ed), LFF (Luis), Iron_Dreamer (Peter), and Jasper994 (Aaron). We are designing this event to be the most accessible yet, and expect it to be the most heavily attended event in Head-Fi history. We will be recruiting local victims, errr…volunteers as the event approaches to assist with set-up, logistics, hospitality, and spreading word of the event to other audio communities.
If you are a SoCal Head-Fi'er who'd like to be part of the biggest headphone meet of all time, don’t worry, we’ll need your support! Everyone outside the L.A. area can spread the word, and make sure that your corner of the globe knows that can't be missed.
Set your compass fox LAX, and descend on the Hilton, a mere iPod's toss from the terminals! Bring everything you've got, and be ready to be blown away, as for two days, you will stand at the nexus of the audio universe.
So what do you need to do now? Start your Can Jam fund today, after all, you have months to get ready! Put down that Mocha Frappamachiactto Soy Latte and stuff that extra $6 a day into your Can Jam mattress account. Try not to blow it on MORE HEADPHONES! Start working on your wife/husband/significant other/boss now to get the time off. Don’t be like those sad sacks that missed Woodstock, The Beatles at Shea Stadium, Jake and Elwood’s benefit concert for the orphanage, or Can Jam '08…
Can Jam 2009 Los Angeles - be there!

I think this is great. I just joined you guys yesterday, when do you plan to come to New York? One of the main issues for me, has always been, you can`t audition most of the headphones and headphone amps that you read about!! We would not buy speakers, w/o listening to them first, right?
So when?

First, welcome to head-fi. There's a regional meet in NYC on March 21st. Check the link in my sig. Also, keep your eye on the local/regional meet forum.

Parking Validation
Does the Hotel validate/waiver the parking fees? $18-26 a day is pretty steep!

Can Jam participants get a day rate of $10. $20 if you annoy any of the organizers. Just kidding.

Hi everyone. I just bought my admissions ticket for CanJam 2009. Looking forward to meeting everyone. It's a long flight from NYC JFK to Long Beach Ca. Don't ask why I am flying into Long Beach CA? All I can say is that I was at JetBlue a week ago to fly to Ft Lauderdale and while having a coffee and waiting for my flight I looked up and saw a Jetblue sign that said " JetBlue will be opening up service from JFK to LAX starting June 17, 2009; so I an flying into Long Beach. I will probably take The Super Shuttle to the hotel. Thinking of bringing my portable rig which consists of my Stax Pro Headphone of choice and one of my Stax SRD X Pro Portable Power Packs. Most probably my Stax 4070s as these are monitor headphones and can block out flight noise. Any news about T shirts for Canjam 2009. I am a huge collector of T shirts. Still this is not a priority at this moment. As The Beatles say " Come together Now" Scottsmrnyc
