I just booked for Friday night checking out Monday morning and had no problem with the group rate for all nights - at least that is what I was told. I called the hotel directly at 310-410-4000.

It would be nice if we could get AUDIOTAILOR, WOO, DARK VOICE, SINGLEPOWER, and CHANNEL ISLANDS there. The latter is located in Oxnard(?) not too far away.

Not to get too far ahead of myself but we have commits from many of HeadFi favorites and we are not done contacting vendors.
In the next two weeks as the list begins to solidify we'll the confirmed vendors to the list.

Well these are great suggestions but at some point we are going to need some help from the community with a lot of these great ideas. Soon we will be posting a thread (in a couple of weeks) listing vendors contacted and asking members to pitch in and do some contacting of their own of as yet non-participating vendors. Preferably, any member who has just purchased gear from a vendor would be the ideal contact person(s). Suggestions are welcome but assistance on labor intensive areas is critically needed to maximize the experience for those attending or viewing.

I'll be happy to help out with follow-up work. Just let me know.

Thanks for stepping up, we will let you know in the comming weeks. In the mean time think of any vendors you have done business with recently or friends who have recently bought gear and be prepared to ask them to participate either with event table space or an advertisement. We need more members like you!

When discussing items that I am having made, and when I asked, Jack at Woo told me they would be represented, as did Ken at ALO. These comments are, obviously not anything to hold them to, but are certainly encouraging. I talked to CI Audio day before yesterday, but forgot to ask.
I should also send an email to ask Rick Cullen up in Paso Robles to ask if he can be there with his modded PS Audio gear (especially the DACs) as well as his own stuff. He did tell me that head-fi was not his bag, but from what I hear, his work is very good indeed. Paso is about 200 miles north of LAX, but entirely doable if he 1) has the time and 2) can deal with a bunch of Can-heads.

Another vendor I'd like to see is Manley Labs. I've been curious about their Neo-Classis 300B preamp that has a couple of headphone jacks. They're located in Chino, CA, so it'd be a quick trip for them.

Sweet. I hope the invitation is extended to newbies, like myself, as well. Since I only live 40 minutes away from that particular Hilton, I should make it, though I know I shall be overwhelmed. The only high end stuff I have are the MS-1's and that is not even high gear for many of you.

all are headfi members, their family friends and audio hobbyists are welcome. Meets are a great place to see what the hobby offers from a gear standpoint and more importantly a community standpoint.
Not to worry about the gear yo can bring there will be gear aplenty to hear and you'll get a smoking idea of what is possible.
So yes you are welcome to attend!!

I approached EveAnna at a audio event this past December regarding having more headphone gear in her line, the 300 preamp is the only gear in their line with a headphone connector. EveAnna didn't seem too interested. Do you have an in over there? Perhaps under better circumstances Manley might be more interested in exploring the headphone enthusiast as a market segment.

I'll be doing a little promoting over on some "Pro Audio" sites and on one of them, EveAnna is a moderator. The problem getting pro audio vendors (and that is their main focus) to consumer shows is they're considered much more of a networking type of investment (like CES). Finding individual buyers takes a back seat to finding new distributors and having existing ones stock their new gear. So they usually go all out on a couple of big events and forget about the little ones. There's a big burnout factor too.
Since LA is such a hot bed of studios (both audio and film) I'm hoping that I can get a good number of folks to come by and check out the latest and greatest in headphones (you can't believe some of the crap some of the most respected names in the business use,.. of course headphones are secondary to monitors but that still means they're listening to them for hours a day!).
