Can Jam 2009 Date and Location Announcement
(2009 International Head-Fi Meet in Los Angeles, California, USA)

Online Pre-Registration is Now Closed. But come join us and register at the door!

The Can Jam 2009 Organizing Committee is excited to announce that the next Head-Fi International Meet is coming to The Hilton at LAX in Los Angeles, May 30th and 31st. Save the date, and you'll be welcomed to the most diverse and friendly experience that high-end audio can offer. The Hilton LAX will offer Head-Fi members that attend the best possible listening experience at a National Meet bar none.

Here is the link for the HeadFi rate for rooms please use this link when booking rooms

HEAD FI

Can Jam 2009 will pick up where the superb efforts of predecessors in New York, San Jose, and South Florida left off, offering attendees the widest possible array of headphone listening experiences and entertaining extracurriculars. Many generous members, volunteers, and vendors will see to it. Have no doubt, the bar will rise, as surprises will heighten the National Meet experience, and set an example for the many years surely to follow. Keep returning to this forum to see announcements for vendors, guest speakers or entertainers that have been added to Can Jam 2009.

The organizing committee features the midnight-oil-burning team of JP11801 (John), 909 (David), Velogreg (Greg), Edwood (Ed), LFF (Luis), Iron_Dreamer (Peter), and Jasper994 (Aaron). We are designing this event to be the most accessible yet, and expect it to be the most heavily attended event in Head-Fi history. We will be recruiting local victims, errr…volunteers as the event approaches to assist with set-up, logistics, hospitality, and spreading word of the event to other audio communities.

If you are a SoCal Head-Fi'er who'd like to be part of the biggest headphone meet of all time, don’t worry, we’ll need your support! Everyone outside the L.A. area can spread the word, and make sure that your corner of the globe knows that can't be missed.

Set your compass fox LAX, and descend on the Hilton, a mere iPod's toss from the terminals! Bring everything you've got, and be ready to be blown away, as for two days, you will stand at the nexus of the audio universe.

So what do you need to do now? Start your Can Jam fund today, after all, you have months to get ready! Put down that Mocha Frappamachiactto Soy Latte and stuff that extra $6 a day into your Can Jam mattress account. Try not to blow it on MORE HEADPHONES! Start working on your wife/husband/significant other/boss now to get the time off. Don’t be like those sad sacks that missed Woodstock, The Beatles at Shea Stadium, Jake and Elwood’s benefit concert for the orphanage, or Can Jam '08…

Can Jam 2009 Los Angeles - be there!

Online Pre-Registration is Now Closed. But come join us and register at the door!

Is there a hotel group rate for people who might be staying overnight? If so, what might the Group Code be?

Never stay at a motel that advertises "Cans Cans Cans!"

Nice announcement photo! Is that the parking lot of the official Can Jam bowling alley? Just kidding. But that's some nice PS work on the signs.
Man, you organizer guys sure wake up early. Or is there some way to put a timer on sending a post,.. I guess there is if you really needed to huh?
Well, I'm already getting a little excited and I'll be happy ta do some shameless promoting on some of the audio forums that are a little off the beaten path.

Well, at least we know the motel has restrooms...

The Hilton doesn't look too bad itself.

Hey, looking up flight prices on Orbitz, and it doesn't look too bad.. about $225 for the flight. How much is the hotel looking to cost?

I am sure it will be another really stunning meeting!
Probably wont attend this year either, since its so damn far away. But I have not fully decided yet.

Best wishes for the meeting!

To be held at the photoshopped "bowling alley," I presume.

Will there be isolation areas for electrostats and the K-1000, which was mentioned as a possibility in the other thread?

That would be so awesome...

If only I had the money and didn't have to worry about school, I'd be there.
