Default Pro 750, Pro 900 or Hifi 680

Yeah So I've been researching for a while now for some new headphones. I've pretty much decided on the Pro 750, so this is my last stage before I order them or go out to find em somewhere (if possible).

I was jsut wondering are the 900s worth the extra cash, and should I ditch both and go for Hifi 680s..(maybe even 780s)??? I primarily listen to trance, electronic etc. and rock (like bloc party, paramore, Red Hot Chili peppers.

So am I making a good decision with the Pro 750s or should I seriously considered on of these? ( I guess if there is some other good pair of headphones not from Ultrasone then you could list them)

Thanks

I own the HFI-680 and more recently got a Pro 750. I really like the HFI-680 and find it to be very versatile. The bass is punchy and pretty deep, and the overall tonal balance is pretty even. I also appreciate that the treble is detailed and well-extended while still being smooth. It also works well out of my iPhone or laptop and desktop amp without changing character dramatically. I think it would work well for the music you mentioned.

The Pro 750 sounds good too, but the upper bass and mids aren't quite as smooth. The bass goes really low, but the bass also isn't as tight. With some orchestral tracks, the added bass imparts a dynamic foundation that makes the music really enjoyable. The bass gets surprisingly sloppy if you're not using a decent amp though (for example, my iPhone 3GS doesn't drive the Pro 750 too well). The treble is a little more detailed, but also comes off as a lot harsher. I don't mean to suggest the Pro 750 is lousy. I've just had the opportunity to directly compare it to the HFI-680, which I've grown to appreciate. I do love the Pro goodies though. The threaded interchangeable cables are a brilliant idea and the included hard case is really nice.
