Yes 7/10 volume is when i tried on the iPod and when i felt the volume is becoming uncomfortable for me, but at that volume the source music mp3 from a CD was lacking in detail and an amp would help alot to bring out more detail coz i dont have such problems when the headset is connected to the soundcard.
