Default HFI-780 vs PRO 750

Im looking to purchase either of these headphones without the chance to audition them so help is needed.

What are the main differences between these two headphones? And which one will be better for listening to/producing trance music?

At the moment i use onboard audio, but may buy a sound card in the future.

Any opinion is helpful. THNX

Hi,
both headphones sound very precise and detailed and offers a great spatial congnition. PRO 750 is the tool for studio use, itīs more analytical. HFI-780 is the better choice for listening music, including trance music. Apart of that, PRO 750 have detachable cables, two cables included, a second pair of earpads included and a transportation case.
Regards

Actually this is important to me to cause I'm looking at the same headphones (also the Pro 900s and the HFI 680s)...I was told 750s were great for trance.

780s were mentioned but praise for the 750s seemed to overshadow it.

780's have far more base but less tingly treble.

750's are more detailed but have recessed mids - How do I know? I own them.

With the choice of both, I'd use the 780's for trance. Search out the Bayer replacement pad mod that Miguel uncovered and you are ready to immerse yourself!

The hfi-780s have a "U" EQ sound... they amplify all the fun stuff, and will be more efficient and more forgiving with your sound card. Trance is fantastic with the 780s.

The pro650/750/900 are also very nice headphones, extremely well made but have a different sound signature from the hfi. They are more analytical, more honest, less forgiving with a crappy source. You'd probably need some nicer equipment leading up to the headphones to make the most of them.

It really all comes down to your ears, and how you like your sound. For me - the proline series doesn't work as well as the hfi for my tastes; most Sennheisers don't work for me either.
