Default When you listen to speakers, are you thinking of headphones?

when i hear a new pair of speakers, i always compare them to my favorite headphones (ety er4). recently i auditioned a pair of the new paradigm atoms for my home theater surrounds, and i could not help comparing them to the venerable ety's. not fair, i know. do you do this too?

I try not to because it hurts to know that speakers are much better , so I just listen to the music.

Not usually. I came to the audiophile party through speakers first, and they're still very important to me.

I did the Atoms thing, Redshifter. Skip them, they're good but not deserving of their reputation.

I only think of my old HD600s when I put a big, hot wooly muff on my head.

Im usually thinking of how someone will complain about the noise just as I'm getting toward the finale of an awesome album.

Headphones are the only way I can enjoy music anymore. It's wonderfully private.

yup, if you are listening to speakers and found it lacking then your speakers set up is not on par to your headphones.
